About the designer

Hello! My name is Michael Jolley, I'm 21 years old, and I'm a web designer/developer, and student, from the UK.

Mike; Up close and personal

Mike Jolleys PhotoHeres a little bit of information about me.

I have various hobbies, I'm a keen musician (bass guitar player), and I enjoy a good bit of heavy metal, rock, punk & ska. I enjoy anything computer related, hence my choice of career.

Since just after X-mas 2005 I managed to get type-1 diabetes which was a major downer, and I wouldn't have coped without the loving support of my girlfriend, Lorna (she will hate me for mentioning her (: )

I spend most of my time expanding my knowledge of the web, I must admit, I obviously don't get out enough. I also have a close working relationship with Anthony Brewitt over at DesignBit.

I first started designing websites 5 years ago, and what started as a hobby, has become my passion and career choice. I have come a long way since then, and when I look back I can see just how much my work has improved.

I am still in college, I have been for 5 years now, now studying for my Bsc in computing.

My skills

Currently, my skill-set in regards to web design includes:

  • XHTML Development
  • Advanced CSS Development
  • PHP/MySQL Programming
  • Wordpress Customisation
  • Javascript/JQuery
  • Design work (using Illustrator, photoshop, and fireworks)
