At last! My sidebar login widget has evolved into ‘Sidebar Login’ which has both a widget and a template tag to allow you to have a login form in the sidebar of your wordpress powered blog.
It lets users login, and then redirects them back to the page they logged in from rather than the backend, it also shows error messages. Read more for more information and the download link.

Google has just released a beta of its own web browser dubbed ‘Google Chrome‘.
Nice features include independently running tabs (each tab has its own process; if one crashes it won’t affect the others) and an ‘incognito mode’ so you can browse privately without it being added to your web history.
Despite a few hiccups regarding its Terms of service and a security flaw being identified, Chrome has been fairly well received; Performance wise Chrome is quite good. Lifehacker found that it performed on par with firefox, and ZDNet found that it outperformed all current and upcoming browsers. Not bad.
Although its only available to windows users at the moment, I dug out my windows doorstop to give it a whirl; first impressions, its very clean and simplistic and I like that in a browser. It uses space well and allows a lot more vertical space for web pages. I could see this doing well on smaller screened computers such as netbooks. I noticed a few parts that were awkward in this beta such as bookmark management, it lacks certain aspects such as full page zoom (instead it has text resizing only) its a beta so i shouldn’t be too critical of it.
